Local Enterprise Partnership – Your Best Friend

Having spent many years supporting businesses in the UK with their growth ambitions, I am often asked my opinion about Local Enterprise Partnerships. LEP’s exist right across England and they serve a great purpose – simply put they do all the heavy lifting with the UK government on interpreting policy. This enables them to filter the Whitehall guff and pass on the sweet benefits to you as a business owner.

The LEP’s explain

As the LEP Network explains in more eloquent terms; “There are 39 Local Enterprise Partnerships across England. They are local business-led partnerships between local authorities and businesses and play a central role in determining local economic priorities and undertaking activities to drive economic growth and the creation of local jobs.
The LEP Network is a gateway to news and information that enables Local Enterprise Partnerships to come together on areas of shared importance, engage with Government, and share knowledge and good practice. We also help those outside the world of LEP’s, understand what a LEP is, what LEP’s are trying to do and how to engage further with the relevant LEP.”

It is a win-win for all parties

I have dealt with many LEPs and there are variations in the model of service delivery. What I can tell you is the LEP in your area has the finger on the pulse of all business-related growth programmes. LEP’s want to help your business remain competitive. They employ people with the specific remit of disseminating knowledge, sharing best practice and supporting you in the various business life-cycle phase that you find yourself in.
